Udaipur, May 7, 2025 In a coordinated move to press for the long-pending demand for a High Court bench in Udaipur, the Mewar Bagad High Court Bench Sangharsh Samiti, Bar Association Udaipur, and Zila Sangharsh Samiti will jointly stage a protest and rally on Wednesday, May 8, starting at 9:00 AM at the District Court premises.

The action marks a significant escalation in the regional legal community’s efforts to secure judicial infrastructure for South Rajasthan.
Protest and Rally Planned; Absentees Face Expulsion from Association
Bar Association President Chandrabhan Singh Shaktawat announced that preparations were finalized on Tuesday in the Bar auditorium during a strategy meeting led by Sangharsh Samiti Convenor Advocate Ramesh Nandwana.
A strict directive was issued to ensure full participation of advocates. General Secretary Mahaveer Prasad Sharma confirmed that advocates who remain absent from the protest will be issued notices, and their membership may be terminated.

9:00 AM to 10:00 AM: Sit-in protest at the District Court.

10:00 AM onward: A rally from the court premises to Ambedkar Circle, culminating with a memorandum submission to the District Collector, addressed to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, demanding immediate action on the bench issue.

In a parallel resolution, it was unanimously decided to submit a written request to the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, urging for the provision of virtual hearing facilities in Udaipur. The demand includes establishing a video conferencing room equipped with modern tools and providing training to local advocates to facilitate remote judicial participation.
Inclusive Participation Emphasized: Women and Youth Advocates Encouraged
Spokesperson Advocate Harish Paliwal emphasized the need for strong representation from women and junior advocates, appealing to all legal professionals to ensure their active participation in the demonstration.
