Temperature Drops Across Rajasthan as Clear Skies Return
Jaipur, January 24 : Rajasthan experienced a significant dip in temperatures as clear skies and cold winds intensified the winter chill across the state. Following recent rains, a cold wave swept through the region, causing nighttime temperatures in 23 cities to drop below 10°C, with two cities recording temperatures below 5°C.
Mount Abu recorded the lowest temperature at 3°C, followed by Fatehpur, which registered 3.9°C.
Statewide Temperature Trends
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported a temperature decline of 2 to 7°C across most cities in Rajasthan. The sharpest drop was observed in Dausa, where nighttime temperatures plummeted by 7°C.

- Jalore recorded the highest daytime temperature at 26.1°C.
- Jodhpur experienced its coldest night, with temperatures dropping to 13.2°C.
- Average humidity levels across the state ranged between 50% and 100%, contributing to the chill factor.

Meteorologists predict that the cold wave will persist over the next two days due to northern winds, with both minimum and maximum temperatures expected to fall by an additional 2°C.

Jaipur Witnesses a Sharp Drop in Temperatures
Jaipur recorded a noticeable increase in winter intensity, with significant declines in both daytime and nighttime temperatures.
- Daytime Temperature: Dropped by 0.7°C, settling at 24°C.
- Nighttime Temperature: Fell by 4°C, reaching 11°C.
Sunny skies prevailed during the day, accompanied by moderate winds that added to the chill factor.
