Tejashwi Yadav Criticizes Bihar Government Amid Rising Crime Rates

Patna, April 9: Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has sharply criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government. He questioned the whereabouts of good governance when crime rates in Bihar continue to rise. Yadav stated that Bihar ranks first in crime, education, health, and migration issues.

During a media interaction in Patna, Yadav expressed that the entire system in Bihar is crumbling. Patients are not receiving treatment in hospitals, essential medicines are unavailable, and even stretchers are lacking. He pointed out a brutal murder in Araria that occurred in broad daylight, highlighting the state’s deteriorating law and order situation. “Where is the administration? Where is the rule of law?” he asked.

He further remarked that speaking the truth often angers people. “If you do not speak the truth and are unaware of reality, how can you provide solutions?” Yadav emphasized that Bihar is a poor state, a fact corroborated by the NITI Aayog report, which ranks Bihar lowest in per capita income.

Yadav criticized the NDA government, which has been in power for 20 years, claiming it is mired in corruption. He noted that despite being a ‘double-engine’ government, employees are not receiving their salaries, and the state’s treasury is empty.

He stated, “What has happened to Bihar’s condition and direction? Criminals have no fear of the law. Bihar lags behind other states in every aspect. The double-engine government has failed to maintain law and order.”

Yadav also mentioned that previously, governments were elected for five-year terms, but now, governments are changing frequently. He remarked that NDA members are more concerned about who the next BJP Chief Minister will be rather than addressing crime control, even though the Home Department is under BJP’s jurisdiction.
