Jaipur : In drive for national infrastructure development, Ministry of Defence has given clearance to Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to lay few kilometers of water pipeline through defence land on the eastern fringes of Pokharan field firing ranges.
In a somber ceremony, the General Officer Commanding, Desert Corps, handed over the project site and a Memorandum of Understanding to the senior officials of HPCL and Rajasthan Refinery Limited.
HPCL in a joint venture with Rajasthan Refineries Limited is constructing Petrochemical Refinery at Pachpadra, Barmer.
The project on completion will give a fillip to the socio-economic condition of the border area of Barmer. Raw water for the project is being sourced from Indira Gandhi Canal at Nachna over a distance of 230 Kilometers.
Clearance for laying this water pipeline through defence land will facilitate the efficient and speedy completion of the project.
