Jaipur : Lieutenant General JS Nain, Army Commander, Southern Command visited Headquarters Desert Corps at Jodhpur Military Station from 26 to 27 December 2021.
Army Commander reviewed the operational preparedness of the formation wherein he was briefed by Lieutenant General PS Minhas, General Officer Commanding on operational, training and administrative activities being carried out by the formation. Army Commander appreciated the high standards of training exhibited by the Desert Corps during the recently conducted Exercise DAKSHIN SHAKTI & SAGAR SHAKTI.
Army Commander interacted with the staff and appreciated the efforts by all ranks in maintaining a high state of morale and operational readiness at all times. Army Commander exhorted all ranks to be constantly prepared for any challenges, remain professionally sound, competent and constantly evolve tactics, techniques and procedures to fight the “Future Wars”. He later visited the newly renovated Konark War Memorial which has been dedicated to all Bravehearts of Konark Corp who laid down their life while safeguarding the territorial integrity of the Nation.
The Army Commander also witnessed a match of the prestigious Army Commander’s Polo Cup, interacted with the participating teams and presented prizes to the winners.
Accompanying the Army Commander was Mrs Anita Nain, Regional President, AWWA who interacted with families of the troops stationed at Jodhpur and was briefed on the welfare activities & initiatives for the families in the military station.
