Opposition members and those from several other parties raised various issues like Banking Frauds, ‘Special Category Status’ to Andhra Pradesh among others. As the ruckus continued and Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day, while the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2pm.
The second part of the session would primarily see the passage of the Union budget for 2018-19 and discussions on the demand for grants for various ministries. OBC Bill, Economic Offenders Bill 2018 and Triple Talaq Bill will be the other main focus of the Government during this part of the session. The Fugitive Economic Offenders Bill, 2018 approved by Cabinet would help in laying down measures to deter economic offenders from evading the process of law, by remaining outside the jurisdiction of Indian courts.
BJP members felicitated Prime minister Narendra Modi and the BJP National President Amit Shah for party’s success in recently held assembly elections in three northeastern states. As Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah reached Parliament house, BJP members raised victory slogans and felicitated the two leaders on party’s grand victory.
