Jaipur | May 20, 2025 : In a significant breakthrough in the Rajasthan teacher recruitment paper leak case, the Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested school lecturer Kavita Lakhera for using a leaked exam paper to secure a top rank in the 2022 Economics School Lecturer Competitive Exam. Kavita, who had been absconding after her brother’s arrest in connection with the case, was apprehended over the weekend and presented before the court on Sunday. She has been remanded to three days in SOG custody.
Leaked Paper Bought for ₹25 Lakh
According to officials, Kavita Lakhera struck a deal for ₹25 lakh with the paper-leak mafia, facilitated by her brother Deepak Lakshkar. She received the question papers a night before the examination and revised them with other candidates at a secret location. Kavita went on to secure the 20th rank in the merit list for the Economics subject and was posted at the Government Senior Secondary School, Jaliya Pratham, in the Jawaja block of Beawar.
SOG officials revealed that the transaction was split into two parts: ₹12 lakh was paid upfront on the day of the exam, and the remaining ₹13 lakh was paid after her selection. Deepak reportedly sold a plot of land to finance the entire amount.
Arrest Followed Digital Trail
The SOG’s investigation gained momentum after Deepak’s arrest earlier this year. Subsequent analysis of mobile chat records between Kavita, Deepak, and other accused exposed the extent of the paper leak network. The accused had exchanged messages confirming the payment, exam location, and the delivery of solved question papers.
A Widespread Network
Deepak Lakshkar’s interrogation revealed a deeper network involving:
Omprakash Gurjar (Tonk)
Ganpat Vishnoi (Jalore)
Ram Ratan (Jaipur)
Ramchandra Meena (Tonk)
Purushottam Lakhera (Jaipur)
On the exam day, Omprakash escorted Kavita and 8–10 other candidates in a Scorpio SUV to a safe house, where they were coached on the solved Economics question paper before being dropped at their respective exam centers.
SOG Crackdown Continues
The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) had conducted the School Lecturer Economics exam on October 15–16, 2022. Following growing suspicions and irregularities, the SOG officially lodged an FIR on April 10, 2025. Seven accused have been named so far, and the investigation is ongoing to unravel the full extent of the operation.
Previous Attempts Unsuccessful
Interestingly, sources confirmed that Kavita had attempted multiple competitive exams before but had never succeeded. The paper leak allowed her to unfairly leapfrog hundreds of deserving candidates, raising serious concerns about the integrity of public recruitment in the state.
The SOG continues its probe, signaling further arrests and exposing deeper layers of what now appears to be one of the most elaborate recruitment exam frauds in Rajasthan’s recent history.
