Mumbai, April 20 : The Rupee on Wednesday surged 29 paise to close at 76.21 against the US dollar on selling of the dollars by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said. The local t that rose 10 paise at 76.40 in early trade gained further and finished strong at 76.21, up 29 paise as compared to its previous close. The Rupee advanced because of a weak dollar against other world currencies amid a rebounding equity market. The Rupee registered the day’s high and low at 76.15 and 76.45 respectively against the dollar, the dealers added. NV MR
