Bhopal – Rakshabandhan 2025 is set to be extra special for the women of Madhya Pradesh, thanks to a festive bonus under the Ladli Behna Yojana. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that in celebration of this sacred festival, an additional ₹250 will be credited to beneficiaries’ accounts — raising this month’s installment from ₹1250 to ₹1500.
This festive top-up, described as a “shagun” by the state government, reflects a symbolic gesture of respect and empowerment for women across the state.
₹1500 Direct Transfer Ahead of Rakshabandhan
Rakshabandhan will be celebrated on 9 August 2025, and the special ₹1500 installment is expected to be credited via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) between 10 and 15 July 2025, according to official sources. Eligible women are advised to keep an eye on their bank accounts during this period to ensure they receive the bonus without delay.
Under the Ladli Behna Yojana, the state government typically transfers ₹1250 every month to eligible women. The added ₹250 is a one-time festive bonus in view of Rakshabandhan, allowing sisters to celebrate the occasion with greater joy and dignity.
Who Is Eligible — and Who’s Not?
The Ladli Behna Yojana is specifically aimed at financially disadvantaged women in Madhya Pradesh. However, several eligibility criteria and exclusions apply:
Ineligible categories include:
Women from high-income families (annual household income over ₹2.5 lakh)
Households with government job holders or income tax payers
Families owning a four-wheeler (except tractors)
Owners of more than 5 acres of agricultural land
Families of MPs, MLAs, or high-ranking officials in boards/corporations
Recipients of other government schemes providing ₹1250 or more monthly
Families of elected representatives of local bodies (excluding panch and deputy sarpanch)
The scheme targets women from economically vulnerable households, ensuring support reaches those who need it most.
A Symbol of Trust and Empowerment
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the deeper meaning behind the Ladli Behna Yojana, stating, “This is not just a scheme—it’s a symbol of respect and trust. We are committed to empowering women financially and socially.”
Since its launch, the Ladli Behna Yojana has become a cornerstone of women’s welfare in Madhya Pradesh. It aims not only to provide monthly financial support but also to strengthen the role of women in families and communities.
With this latest festive bonus, the government reaffirms its commitment to inclusive development and the well-being of its women citizens.
