According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated in several districts on Wednesday. Following this, dense fog is expected to cover the state from January 16, leading to a further drop in night temperatures over the next three days. The weather department has issued an alert for changing weather conditions in 17 districts, including Ajmer, Bharatpur, Kota, and Jaipur divisions. The alert warns of cloudy skies and isolated spells of light to moderate rainfall, with hailstorm possibilities in some areas.

Clear Skies on Tuesday, Cold Winds Continue

In the last 24 hours, cities such as Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Kota, and Udaipur experienced clear skies with sunshine throughout the day on Tuesday. However, light cold winds swept through Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Churu, Sikar, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, and Karauli, making it difficult for people to escape the chilly weather. Except for Alwar, the minimum temperature across all cities remained in single digits, below 10 degrees Celsius.

Extended Cold Spell Expected

Weather experts suggest that the biting cold in Rajasthan is unlikely to subside anytime soon. The minimum temperatures are expected to remain below or around normal levels for the next 12 to 15 days. Another weak Western Disturbance is forecasted to affect the state around January 22-23, further delaying any significant rise in temperatures. Residents have been advised to prepare for continued cold conditions, with minimal chances of respite from the chill in the coming weeks.

Precautionary Measures

The weather department has urged farmers to take precautions to safeguard their crops from potential hailstorms and frost. Additionally, commuters have been advised to be cautious while traveling due to the likelihood of dense fog reducing visibility in the coming days.
