Rain Likely in Rajasthan from February 2-4, Cloud Cover Brings Slight Relief from Cold

Jaipur, January 29: A weak Western Disturbance has led to a gradual rise in temperatures across Rajasthan, offering mild relief from the winter chill. Some regions, including Bhilwara, recorded light rainfall on Wednesday. The minimum temperature across the state rose by 2-10 degrees Celsius, with 16 cities registering night temperatures below 10°C.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a strong Western Disturbance is expected to become active between February 2 and 4, bringing rain accompanied by thunderstorms in parts of Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Bikaner divisions.

Temperature Fluctuations and Weather Outlook

Over the past 48 hours, the weak Western Disturbance has caused a 2-10°C increase in temperatures across the state. Partial cloud cover was observed in eastern Rajasthan, with isolated drizzles recorded in some areas. However, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry over the next three to four days.

  • Nine cities recorded temperatures exceeding 30°C, including Barmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Dabok, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Dungarpur, Jalore, and Lunkaransar.
  • Barmer recorded the highest daytime temperature at 34.4°C, while Dungarpur experienced the warmest night at 15°C.
  • Lunkaransar remained the coldest location at night, with temperatures dropping to 5.8°C.
  • Sikar saw the highest temperature jump of 10°C overnight.

Jaipur Sees Cloud Cover and Rising Temperatures

Since Tuesday night, Jaipur’s skies have remained cloudy, leading to a rise in both daytime and nighttime temperatures.

  • On Wednesday, scattered clouds persisted, accompanied by moderate winds.
  • Jaipur’s maximum temperature rose to 26.2°C, while the minimum temperature increased by over 3°C to reach 12.6°C.

With rain expected in early February, residents should prepare for temporary weather changes, while temperatures may remain higher than usual in the coming days.
