Priyanka wants justice for dead BHU student

New Delhi, April 22 : Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi expressed grief over the report of the death of a student of Banaras Hindu versity (BHU) who had been taken in custody by police two years ago. “Deeply saddened to hear the painful ordeal of the family of BHU student Shiv Trivedi. The family of this meritorious student who came to study at BHU from Panna, Madhya Pradesh, came to know after two years that Shiva had died,” Priyanka Gandhi said in a tweet. “In this entire incident, the negligence and insensitivity of the police administration is clearly visible. Justice can be delivered only by a high level investigation. The family of Shiv Trivedi must get justice,” she said. Shiv Trivedi. a student of B.Sc. in BHU, was picked up by the police from the campus of a private hostel in February 2020. According to reports, the police first denied detaining Trivedi, and later said they had released him. Police have now told the court that the student had died. AO MR
