Prez, VP greet civil servants on Civil Services Day

New Delhi, April 21 : President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday extended their warm wishes to all civil servants on the occasion of Civil Services Day. “My best wishes to all civil servants, past and present, on Civil Services Day. They have contributed to India’s emergence as a leading nation,” the President said in a tweet. Kovind urged them to continue serving the country with utmost dedication, as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had exhorted them, with a spirit of public service. Taking to twitter, the VP said, “My greetings to all civil servants, the steel frame of India, on Civil Services Day as they continue to work at the frontline to serve the country and its people.” Lauding the civil servants, Naidu said, ‘It is heartening to see them live up to the vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as a competent, capable and citizen-centric civil service.” “Today is also an occasion for civil servants to recommit to our constitutional values, upgrade their skills and bring developmental benefits to the doorsteps of the poorest and most vulnerable sections of our country.
