PM Kisan Yojana: These Farmers May Not Receive the Upcoming ₹2,000 Instalment – Here’s Why

PM Kisan Yojana
New Delhi
– Farmers across the country are eagerly awaiting the 20th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, a flagship income support scheme launched by the Central Government. While the official date of disbursement is yet to be announced, it is widely expected that the ₹2,000 instalment will be transferred to eligible farmers’ accounts in the last week of June 2025.

However, not all registered farmers may receive this upcoming payment. The government has set certain compliance requirements, without which beneficiaries may be excluded from the 20th instalment. Here’s what you need to know.

e-KYC is Mandatory for Payment

To continue receiving benefits under the PM Kisan scheme, it is mandatory for all farmers to complete e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) verification. Farmers who fail to complete this process will not receive the ₹2,000 instalment, as their applications will be marked ineligible until KYC is updated.

This step has been implemented to eliminate ineligible or duplicate beneficiaries and ensure transparency in fund disbursement.

How to Complete e-KYC Online

Eligible farmers can update their e-KYC online through the official PM Kisan portal. Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website: pmkisan.gov.in

  2. Click on the ‘e-KYC’ link under the ‘Kisan Corner’ section

  3. Enter your Aadhaar number and click on ‘Search’

  4. Enter the mobile number linked to Aadhaar and click on ‘Get OTP’

  5. Enter the received OTP to complete the e-KYC process

This simple process ensures your continued eligibility and timely receipt of future instalments.

How Much Money Is Given Under PM Kisan?

Launched in 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana provides ₹6,000 annually to small and marginal farmers. The amount is distributed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 every four months.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, over 12 crore farmers are currently enrolled under the scheme. The government uses Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to deposit the instalment directly into the bank accounts of verified beneficiaries.

What You Should Do Now

  • Ensure your Aadhaar number is linked to your PM Kisan profile

  • Complete e-KYC online as soon as possible

  • Keep checking your PM Kisan status on the official website

  • Update bank account details if needed to avoid transaction failures

Farmers are advised not to delay these updates, as missing the deadline may result in missing out on this critical financial support.
