Strict Traffic Restrictions for Seamless Pilgrim Movement

Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi confirmed that from 4:00 AM on February 11, all non-essential and non-emergency vehicles will be barred from entering the Mela area. This measure is intended to facilitate unhindered access for devotees undertaking the sacred Maghi Purnima bath.

Vehicles arriving in Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh Snan will be directed to designated parking zones beyond city limits after 4:00 AM on February 11. Only essential and emergency service vehicles will be exempt from these restrictions.

To further ease pilgrim movement, the No-Vehicle Zone regulation will be extended to the entire city of Prayagraj from 5:00 PM on February 11. This restriction will remain in effect until the safe dispersal of pilgrims from the Mela area after the Snan festival on February 12.

Restrictions Apply to Kalpwasis’ Vehicles as Well

The entry and exit regulations will also apply to the vehicles of Kalpwasis (long-term spiritual residents of the Mela area), ensuring a well-managed and secure pilgrimage experience.

The Mela administration and law enforcement urge all visitors and locals to adhere to the traffic restrictions and cooperate in maintaining order during this auspicious religious event.
