- Legislative Basis: The exam is conducted under the provisions of:
- National Medical Commission Act, 2019 (Section 14): NEET (UG) serves as the common entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical programs across all medical institutions.
- National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020 (Section 14): NEET (UG) will also serve as the entrance test for undergraduate courses in Indian systems of medicine, including BAMS (Ayurveda), BUMS (Unani), and BSMS (Siddha).
- National Commission for Homoeopathy Act: Admission to BHMS (Homeopathy) programs will also require qualifying NEET (UG).
- B.Sc. Nursing Admissions:
- For the Armed Forces Medical Services’ B.Sc. Nursing courses, candidates aspiring to join the Military Nursing Service (MNS) must qualify for NEET (UG) 2025.
- NEET (UG) scores will be used for shortlisting candidates for the four-year B.Sc. Nursing program.
