Mumbai Rail Block Alert: Major Train Services Disrupted Between Kandivali and Borivali from April 26 to 28

Western Railway to Undertake Re-Girdering Work on Bridge No. 61, Triggering 35-Hour Block

MUMBAI โ€” Western Railway has announced a major 35-hour block between Kandivali and Borivali stations to carry out crucial re-girdering work on Bridge No. 61. The block will be in effect from 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, to midnight on Monday, April 28, 2025, impacting train operations across multiple lines.

Mumbai train cancellations

As part of the work, services on the 5th line, carshed line, and Kandivali Traffic Yard line will be temporarily suspended. During the block, suburban and long-distance trains running on the 5th line will be rerouted to fast lines, while several services will either be cancelled or partially terminated.

Suburban Train Cancellations: Over 160 Services to Be Affected

According to a release by Western Railwayโ€™s Public Relations Department, 73 suburban train services will be cancelled on Saturday, April 26, and another 90 services will be suspended on Sunday, April 27. Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly and make alternate arrangements to avoid inconvenience.

The temporary suspension of services is part of an essential infrastructure upgrade aimed at enhancing safety and operational efficiency on the suburban rail network.

Long-Distance Trains to Be Short-Terminated and Originated

Several Mail/Express trains will face partial cancellations during the block:

  • Train No. 19418 Ahmedabadโ€“Borivali Express, scheduled for April 25 and 26, will terminate early at Vasai Road and remain cancelled between Vasai Road and Borivali.

  • Train No. 19417 Borivaliโ€“Ahmedabad Express, running on April 27, will originate from Vasai Road instead of Borivali.

  • Train No. 19425 Borivaliโ€“Nandurbar Express on April 26 and 27 will originate from Bhayandar, skipping the Borivali segment.

  • Train No. 19426 Nandurbarโ€“Borivali Express on April 26 will terminate at Vasai Road and will not run up to Borivali.
