MSP Procurement for Moong and Soybean Extended Until February 4
Jaipur, January 16 : The Rajasthan government has extended the Minimum Support Price (MSP) procurement deadline for moong and soybean crops for the Kharif season 2024-25 to February 4. Cooperation Minister Gautam Kumar Dak stated that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma had requested the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to extend the deadline to alleviate difficulties faced by farmers in selling their produce at MSP.

Extended Procurement Timeline
Minister Dak explained that farmers who have already registered to sell their moong and soybean crops at MSP can now bring their produce to the designated procurement centers until February 4.
- Moong: Out of the 86,488 farmers who registered, 70,619 farmers have already sold 1.42 lakh metric tons of moong.
- Soybean: Among the 42,956 registered farmers, 26,328 have sold 68,747 metric tons of soybean.
- Groundnut: The MSP procurement for groundnut will continue as scheduled until February 15.
Weather Impact and Storage Measures
Dak highlighted that the current rainy and windy weather poses challenges to the storage and safety of procured crops. To address this, necessary arrangements for safe storage have been implemented. Instructions have also been issued to ensure that farmers face no inconvenience at the procurement centers.
Operational Directives for Procurement Centers
Rajfed Managing Director Narayan Singh emphasized the importance of timely updates and operational efficiency:
- Software Updates: Procurement center officials must upload weighing slips into the software by the final procurement date to ensure accurate records under the MSP scheme.
- Storage Compliance: Purchased crops must be deposited in designated warehouses, and receipt records should be submitted to the headquarters promptly.
