(Kiran News) — The hilly regions of North INDIA continue to witness heavy rainfall, leading to a rise in water levels in many rivers and causing floods in several villages. The situation has caused significant disruption in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, the monsoon has shown signs of slowing down in Uttar Pradesh. However, rain activity is expected to intensify once again in the state.

The weather is forecast to deteriorate after the next 24 hours, which may bring a drop of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in temperature, providing relief from the ongoing heatwave. For today, 29 August, the weather is likely to remain clear. A warning for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms has been issued for several districts in Uttar Pradesh. Here are the details about the expected weather conditions:
Rain Expected in These Districts
According to the Meteorological Department, light to heavy rain is expected in Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, and Bijnor. In addition, heavy rainfall may occur in Shamli, Bajpat, Meerut, Amroha, and Sambhal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also forecast heavy rain with cloudy skies for Bareilly, Rampur, Pilibhit, and Aligarh.
Dark clouds are likely to persist in these areas, with light to moderate rainfall due to intermittent sunshine and cloud cover. The sky is expected to remain partly cloudy in Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow, where the maximum temperature is likely to reach 34 degrees Celsius.
The IMD anticipates a drop in the maximum temperature in Lucknow after the next 24 hours. Today, sunny weather is predicted in Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Kanpur, Barabanki, and Unnao. Similarly, sunshine is also expected in Sitapur, Ayodhya, Gonda, Basti, and Pratapgarh.
Weather Conditions in Other Regions
The Meteorological Department reports that weather conditions in Noida and Ghaziabad are expected to remain normal, with the maximum temperature likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius. However, the heat has started to become uncomfortable in the Purvanchal districts of Varanasi, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, and Bhadohi. According to the IMD, sunny weather is also predicted for Ghazipur, Chandauli, Sonbhadra, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Sultanpur, and Ambedkar Nagar.
