Bokaro, April 4 : A major fire broke out on late Monday afternoon in the Chas power substation. Such was the intensity of the fire that it took several hours for the fire brigade to douse the flames. Chas SDM Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat that in the afternoon suddenly in the repairing Station of the sub Station the fire broke out which soon reached into a storeroom. The storeroom was full of oil drums. Soon the drums caught fire one but one and as a result which blast took place due to which the fire rapidly spread in the sub Station. As fire spread people from nearby areas also fled from their homes. Fire tenders from Bokaro Steel Plant and local fire station rushed to the spot and doused the flames. The SDM said that probe was on to determine the reasons for the fire. It is estimated that the loss in the fire is into several crores. XC-AK ARN
