Shivpuri/Bhopal, February 13 Poonam Gupta, a proud daughter of Madhya Pradesh and an Assistant Commandant in the CRPF, celebrated her wedding in a grand ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. She exchanged vows with Avneesh Kumar, marking the beginning of their marital journey. The wedding took place on Wednesday night at the Mother Teresa Complex in Rashtrapati Bhavan, with President Droupadi Murmu personally blessing the newlyweds. The bidaai (farewell) ceremony was held on Thursday.
A Special Wedding with Presidential Approval
Poonam Gupta, currently serving as the Personal Security Officer (PSO) to the President of India, received special permission for her wedding to be conducted within the esteemed premises of Rashtrapati Bhavan. The ceremony was attended by close family members and distinguished guests.
Her husband, Avneesh Kumar, also an Assistant Commandant in the CRPF, is stationed in Jammu & Kashmir. The union of two committed officers underscores their shared dedication to the nation.

Poonam completed her B.Sc. from Shivpuri before successfully cracking the UPSC exam, where she opted for the Army. However, she later chose to train with CRPF in Delhi and formally joined the paramilitary force in 2021.
