Madhya Pradesh Heats Up as Temperature Reaches 33°C, Weather to Change from February 22

Bhopal, February 19 Summer is slowly making its presence felt in Madhya Pradesh, with temperatures soaring to 33°C in several parts of the state. On Monday, Narmadapuram, Khandwa, Mandla, and Seoni recorded the highest temperatures, marking the warmest day of the season so far. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this weather pattern is expected to persist for the next four days, before a third spell of winter cold returns from February 22-23. Additionally, light rainfall is expected in the eastern region on February 21.

Weather Shift Due to Western Disturbance and Cyclonic Circulation

IMD reports that the current weather changes are influenced by a Western Disturbance and cyclonic circulation, which have led to varied climatic conditions across Madhya Pradesh. On Tuesday, Gwalior-Chambal witnessed rainfall, while Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain experienced rising temperatures.

City-Wise Weather Forecast

• February 19 (Wednesday): Clear skies in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Jabalpur; Gwalior division may experience cloudy conditions.
• February 20: Day and night temperatures are expected to rise across the state.
• February 21: Light rainfall predicted in the eastern districts, including Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, Seoni, Mandla, and Balaghat.

Temperature Trends Across Madhya Pradesh

On Tuesday, most cities recorded temperatures above 30°C, signaling an early arrival of summer. Key readings include:

• Bhopal: 32.2°C
• Indore: 31.5°C
• Ujjain: 32°C
• Jabalpur: 32°C
• Gwalior: Significant drop of 4.7°C in a single day, reaching 24.9°C due to cloud cover.

Additionally, Betul, Dhar, Damoh, and Sagar recorded 32°C, while Narmadapuram, Khandwa, Khargone, Ratlam, and Mandla saw temperatures rise to 33°C or higher.

During Monday and Tuesday nights, temperatures remained above 15°C in most cities, further confirming the shift towards warmer conditions.

Cold Spell Expected to Return After February 22

Despite the current temperature spike, meteorologists predict a third phase of winter cold returning after February 22, influenced by new weather systems. While no extreme cold waves are expected, a dip in temperatures is likely, particularly in northern and central Madhya Pradesh.
