Light Rain

Bhopal, October 12 (DailyKiran) — The INDIA Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rainfall in the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh over the next four days, while the western districts are experiencing a dip in temperatures, signalling the onset of early winter conditions.

Light Rain

According to the IMD, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Anuppur, and Dindori districts are likely to witness intermittent Light Rain due to an active local weather system in the eastern region. On Saturday, light drizzle was already reported in several areas.

Officials said that the monsoon has not yet fully withdrawn from regions such as Singrauli, Sidhi, Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, Balaghat, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, and Pandhurna, while most other parts of the state have seen its retreat.

Western Madhya Pradesh Sees Cooler Nights

In contrast, northwesterly cold winds blowing from Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand — where snowfall has begun — have led to a drop in night temperatures across western Madhya Pradesh.

Over the past two nights, more than 25 cities in the state recorded minimum temperatures below 20°C.

  • Rajgarh was the coldest at 13.5°C,

  • followed by Dhar (15.6°C), Indore (15°C), Bhopal (17.8°C), Gwalior (18.2°C), and Ujjain (17.2°C).

Monsoon Retreat Almost Complete

The monsoon has completely withdrawn from over 40 districts, including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Harda, Sehore, Vidisha, Sagar, Raisen, Narmadapuram, and Betul.

Meteorologists said that no strong rainfall system is currently active over the state, making conditions favourable for the complete withdrawal of the southwest monsoon within the next one to two days.
