Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation Official Caught Red-Handed Taking ₹5,000 Bribe
Jaipur, February 19 In a major anti-corruption crackdown, the Jaipur Nagar Chaturth team of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Headquarters arrested Rakesh Kumar Sethi, a timekeeper at the Greater Jaipur Municipal Corporation Garage Branch (Malviya Nagar, Lalkothi), for accepting a ₹5,000 bribe on Wednesday morning.

Bribery Demand and ACB Action
According to Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda, Director General of Anti-Corruption Bureau, the ACB received a formal complaint stating that Rakesh Kumar Sethi was demanding ₹3,000 per month as a bribe for assigning a driver to a dumper in the municipal corporation. The complainant revealed that Sethi had sought ₹9,000 for three months, of which ₹1,500 was received during verification. Following negotiations, the bribe amount was reduced to ₹5,000, which led to the trap operation.
Caught Red-Handed
Under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Gyanprakash Naval, the Jaipur Nagar Chaturth ACB team conducted a successful sting operation, leading to Sethi’s arrest while accepting the ₹5,000 bribe.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau has confirmed that further investigations are underway to identify any additional involvement or irregularities in the case.
