India Strikes Back: ‘Operation Sindoor’ Targets Terror Camps in PoK in Retaliation for Pahalgam Attack

New Delhi, May 7, 2025 In a decisive military retaliation against cross-border terrorism, India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting nine major terror installations across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan. The operation comes just days after the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian tourists and one Nepalese national.

Operation Sindoor

This precision offensive, orchestrated by the Indian Armed Forces, signals India’s unwavering stance against terror networks operating from across the border. According to the Ministry of Defence, only terrorist infrastructures were targeted, with no Pakistani military assets included in the strike.

India Delivers Calculated Response to Pahalgam Massacre

Launched at 1:30 AM on Wednesday, the coordinated strikes hit key terror locations in Muzaffarabad, Bahawalpur, and surrounding areas, all of which were under surveillance for their direct involvement in terror planning against India.

The Ministry emphasized that the action was a measured and precise military operation, carefully executed to avoid civilian casualties and non-combatant infrastructure. The operation was carried out in direct response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack, widely condemned for its brutality and communal targeting.

‘Justice Delivered’: Indian Army Signals Completion of Mission

Shortly after the strike, the Indian Army posted a video on social media platform X, with the message: “Ready to Strike, Trained to Win.” Minutes later, another post declared: “Justice Delivered. Jai Hind.”

In its official press release, the government confirmed that nine targets were precisely struck. Explosions were reported in Bahawalpur and Muzaffarabad, areas long believed to harbor terror training centers for groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Government to Release Detailed Briefing on Operation Sindoor

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) announced that a comprehensive briefing on Operation Sindoor will be provided later today. Defence Ministry officials lauded the operation as an example of restraint, strategic planning, and resolve, stating, “India has shown that it will no longer remain silent in the face of terror. Anyone responsible for such heinous acts will be brought to justice.”

This latest development underscores a significant shift in India’s counter-terror doctrine — from defensive posturing to proactive, punitive action against entities involved in cross-border terrorism.
