Inauguration of AYUSH summit scintillating step in AYUSH field : Anurag Thakur

Hamirpur (HP), April 22 : on Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Sports and Youth Affairs, Anurag Singh Thakur has described the inauguration of the Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar as a revolutionary initiative in the field of AYUSH. He said that it will help the farmers a lot in coming years. Thakur was present as keynote speaker along with Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat ji at the concluding session of Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit at Gandhinagar, Gujarat here Friday. Anurag Thakur said, “India is progressing on the path of progress under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji. Modi ji is in favour of innovations in every field for new ideas. AYUSH is one such field which has suffered the brunt of neglect for decades, but Prime Minister Modi ji, realizing its importance, paid special attention to it and drew the attention of the world comm ty to an untouched area like AYUSH. Modi ji inaugurated the Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit in Gandhinagar, Gujarat Thursday , which is a revolutionary initiative in the field of AYUSH. I am also getting an opport ty to share my thoughts on AYUSH at the closing ceremony of this global summit on Friday”. Thakur said, “The possibilities of investment and innovation in the field of AYUSH are limitless. We are already witnessing unprecedented growth in the production of AYUSH drugs, supplements and cosmetics. In 2014, the AYUSH sector was less than $3 billion. Today it has increased to more than $ 18 billion. AYUSH is very beneficial for the patients as well as the farmers. This conference will work to bring awareness to the farmers engaged in growing medicinal plants to easily connect with the market. According to the WHO, 80 percent of the world’s people use traditional medicine. The knowledge of this medicine should not only be respected, but it should also be protected and promoted”.
