Gujarat Board SSC Result 2025: Girls and English Medium Students Lead with Higher Success Rates

Ahmedabad, May 8, 2025 — The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has officially declared the SSC (Class 10) results for 2025, reporting an overall pass percentage of 83.08%, marking a modest rise of 0.62% over last year. Out of 7.36 lakh regular students who appeared for the exam, 6.21 lakh students cleared it successfully.

Girls and English Medium Students Outshine Peers

In yet another consistent trend, girls outperformed boys, with 87.24% of girls passing the SSC exam, compared to 79.56% boys — a gender gap of 7.69% in pass percentage.

Further analysis shows that English medium students had a stellar performance with a pass percentage of 92.58%, which is 10.79% higher than the 81.79% recorded by Gujarati medium students. This substantial margin reflects a significant academic advantage in English medium institutions this year.

Key Performance Statistics and Subject-wise Highlights

  • Total students appeared: 7.36 lakh (regular), 78,613 (repeaters)

Among repeaters, the pass percentage remained low, with less than one-third of candidates clearing the exams.

District-Wise and School-Wise Performance

Banaskantha district topped the state with an 89.24% pass percentage, while Kheda recorded the lowest at 72.55%.

  • Schools with 100% pass rate: 1,574 (an increase from 281 in 2020)

  • Schools with <30% pass rate: 201 (improved from 264 in 2024)

This reflects significant improvements in institutional performance and educational standards across the state.

Re-Test and Improvement Opportunity

Board officials confirmed that 18,124 regular students failed in one subject, while 37,327 failed in two subjects. These students will be eligible for re-tests scheduled later this year, ensuring a second opportunity for qualification.
