Udaipur : Five persons of a family including a woman and a child were killed in a road accident on Tuesday near Parai village under Parsad police station limits on the Ahmedabad- Udaipur national highway. Two others who are seriously injured are admitted in the hospital here, police said. The family hailed from Padra in Baroda who were on a pleasure trip to Udaipur in their car when the accident took place. Their car rammed into a stationary truck parked on the roadside.
“We have informed the relatives and the victims were identified after their people reached here. The reasons for the accident would be clear after the injured people are in a condition to speak” Subhashchandra, the SHO said. The victims were identified as Suresh Bhai (50) Bhagirath Bhai (36), Dikshit Bhai (31) Meena Ben (47) wo Suresh , Pavitra (1.5) so Dikshit Bhai. Two women Ankita (30) wife of Dikshit and Arti (35) wife of Bhagirath and her 2 year old daughter sustained injuries.
According to police, the collision was so intense that the car had completely damaged from the front. Four persons died on the spot while the child died during treatment. Overspeeding is being speculated as the probable reason behind the accident and later the driver could not control the vehicle which hit the truck.
