Cold Wave Intensifies Again in Madhya Pradesh, Temperature Drops in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Other Districts

Bhopal, February 14  The cold wave has intensified once again across Madhya Pradesh, bringing a noticeable dip in temperatures across several districts. The chill has returned during mornings and nights, though daytime sunshine continues to provide slight relief. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the active Western Disturbance over North India has increased wind speeds to 12-15 km per hour, leading to a drop in temperatures. Night temperatures have fallen to 7°C, while daytime temperatures have dipped to around 23°C in several key cities including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur, and Gwalior.

Further Temperature Drop Expected from Friday

As per the weather department’s forecast, temperatures are expected to drop further from Friday, with a decrease of 2-3°C anticipated in the coming days. This fluctuating pattern is likely to continue throughout February due to the active Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir. While no rainfall is expected, cold mornings and nights will persist, with a slight rise in daytime temperatures on Friday.

Significant Temperature Drop Recorded Across Madhya Pradesh

On Thursday, daytime temperatures plummeted significantly across the state. Pachmarhi recorded the lowest temperature at 23.4°C, while major cities also experienced a sharp dip:

• Bhopal: 26.6°C
• Indore: 27.3°C
• Gwalior: 27.1°C
• Ujjain: 28.5°C
• Jabalpur: 26.2°C

Other districts recorded similar trends:

• Damoh: 28°C
• Khajuraho: 27.6°C
• Narsinghpur: 28.2°C
• Nowgong: 25.8°C
• Rewa: 27°C
• Sagar: 28.2°C

• Sidhi: 26.6°C
• Umaria: 27.4°C
• Malajkhand: 26.9°C

Nighttime Chill Persists Amidst Daytime Variability

The cold spell, particularly during the night and early morning hours, has become more pronounced over the past two days. Wednesday and Thursday nights saw further dips in temperature, reinforcing the winter conditions across Madhya Pradesh.
