It is the first visit by a Chinese President to Himalayan nation in 23 years. He was received by the President of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari.
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli and other senior leaders were also present at the airport to welcome President Jinping.
He was accorded Ceremonial Reception at the airport. Later in the evening Chinese President met his Nepali counterpart at Sheetal Niwas, the President House. He is attending a Banquet hosted by the President Bhandari.
President Jinping will hold delegation level talks with Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli Sunday morning.
Following the talks, both the leaders will witness signing of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding.
Senior leaders of Nepal will also call on Chinese President during his sojourn in Kathmandu.
The Govt of Nepal has declared public holiday on Sunday in the honour of visiting dignitary.
