Milan, May 6 — Ahead of a decisive UEFA Champions League semifinal clash against Inter Milan, Barcelona have received a major boost as star striker Robert Lewandowski has returned to full fitness. However, head coach Hansi Flick confirmed that the Polish international will begin the match on the bench at San Siro, with the possibility of being introduced later if needed.
The first leg ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw, leaving everything to play for in the second leg. The winner of this fixture will advance to the final in Munich, where they will face either Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain.

Lewandowski Recovers from Injury, Set to Feature as Substitute
Lewandowski missed the first leg due to a hamstring injury sustained in April during a La Liga clash against Celta Vigo. After weeks of rehabilitation, he has now been declared match-fit.
“He recovered faster than we expected and will be available from the bench,” said Hansi Flick during the pre-match press conference on Monday. “If the situation demands, we won’t hesitate to bring him on.”
The 35-year-old striker has been instrumental for Barcelona this season, scoring 40 goals across all competitions, and his availability significantly strengthens the squad’s attacking options.
Barcelona Eyes Champions League Final Berth
Barcelona are chasing a quadruple this season under Flick’s leadership and need a win at San Siro to book their ticket to Munich. Midfielder Dani Olmo expressed confidence in the team’s momentum.
“We want to win everything,” Olmo said. “We’ve built a team that’s capable of achieving that. If Inter focuses too much on Lamine Yamal, others will step up.”
Spotlight on Lamine Yamal Again
Seventeen-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal turned heads in the first leg, scoring a brilliant goal and coming close to two more with attempts that hit the post. Inter manager Simone Inzaghi has acknowledged that Yamal will receive “special attention” in the second leg.
Despite that, Barcelona remain unfazed. “That doesn’t change our plan,” said Olmo. “We have multiple players who can exploit spaces.”
Final Showdown Awaits in Munich
Tuesday’s encounter will decide who advances to the Champions League final in Munich. The winner of the Barcelona vs. Inter Milan clash will meet either Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain, who are set to battle in the other semifinal fixture.
The stage is set for a dramatic finish, with Barcelona hopeful that their returning striker and rising young stars can push them one step closer to European glory.
