New York, February 11: Casio has officially launched the MRGB2100D-2A in the United States. This premium G-Shock MR-G timepiece was previously available in Japan, Europe, and the UK. Priced at $4,700, it now enhances the brand’s US catalog as part of the flagship MRG-B2100 series.
Specifications of the Casio MRGB2100D-2A
The MRGB2100D-2A features a silver-toned case paired with a blue dial inspired by the Japanese hanada-iro color. The dial showcases a horizontal texture, bold metallic hour markers, a framed date window at 3 o’clock, and a small day sub-dial at 7 o’clock, ensuring a balanced and highly legible layout.
Constructed from premium materials, the MRGB2100D-2A boasts an octagonal bezel made of Cobarion, a Japanese alloy that is four times harder than titanium and has a platinum-like shine. The case and crown are crafted from Ti64 titanium, while the bracelet is made from DAT55G, another titanium alloy known for its durability and wear resistance. Each of the 27 bezel components is polished individually for precision, and a titanium carbide coating enhances scratch resistance.
This watch features solar-powered timekeeping, Multi-Band 6 radio calibration, and Bluetooth connectivity through Casio’s Mobile Link app. This app allows for automatic time adjustments, watch status updates, and a phone finder. The MRGB2100D-2A offers 200-meter water resistance, magnetic resistance, a screw-lock crown, and sapphire crystal glass with an anti-reflective coating.
Additional design elements draw inspiration from traditional Japanese woodworking techniques. The dial’s latticework structure, known as kigumi, allows light to penetrate and power the solar panel. The 12 o’clock marker features a precision-assembled two-part structure that reflects Yamagata Casio’s advanced manufacturing TECHNOLOGY.
Weighing 122 grams and measuring 49.5 x 44.4 x 13.6 mm, the MRGB2100D-2A supports a full-auto calendar, LED Super Illuminator light, and power-saving mode. It is now available through the official Casio store and select retailers.
