Lucknow, September 13 (Patrika English News): A case has been registered against former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and his wife Nutan at Tal Katora police station in Lucknow on Friday.

Speaking on the matter, Thakur said the case was politically motivated. “We are confident that we will prove our innocence,” he added.
Station in-charge Kuldeep Dubey confirmed that the FIR has been filed against Amitabh Thakur and his wife.
According to the complaint lodged by Sanjay Sharma, a resident of Awas Vikas Colony, Tal Katora, the alleged fraud dates back to 1999, when Thakur was posted as Superintendent of Police in Deoria district. Sharma claimed that Nutan obtained an industrial plot (number B-2) from the District Industries Centre, Deoria, with the full support of her husband.
The complaint further alleged that Nutan used different names while securing the plot—presenting herself as “Nutan Devi” and her husband as “Abhijat Thakur,” showing their address as Sitamarhi, Bihar, instead of their actual details. The complainant accused the couple of conspiring to commit fraud through these actions.
Police said the matter is under investigation based on the available facts.
