Campaigning for Assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana ends today

There are 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra. The main contest is between BJP-Shiv Sena alliance and Congress-NCP combine. MNS, BSP, CPI(M) and CPI are among other parties contesting. A total of 3,237 candidates are in the fray. The number of voters in the state is 8,98,39,600.  

In Haryana, the main contest is between the BJP and the Congress. Other parties fighting in the polls are INLD, Aam Aadmi Party, Swaraj India Party, JJP, BSP and LJP. 

A total of 1,169 candidates are in the fray for the 90-member Assembly. Of them, 1,064 are male and 105 female candidates. The number of voters between 18 and 19 years of age has increased from 3 lakh to 3.82 lakh after the recently held Lok Sabha elections.
