
Rourkela, February 12: Belgium triumphed over India with a score of 3-1 in the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025-26 leg held at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium on Wednesday. Goals from Nelson Onana (23rd minute), Thomas Croels (53rd minute), and Arno Van Dessel (57th minute) secured the victory for Belgium, while Shilanand Lakra netted the only goal for India in the 29th minute.
The first quarter was thrilling. Belgium earned a penalty corner in the fourth minute, but India’s first rusher, Vivek Sagar Prasad, bravely blocked Alexander Hendricks’ drag flick. Just four minutes later, India received their first penalty corner, but failed to capitalize on the opportunity.
