93 Gallantry Awards Announced, 2 Soldiers Honored with Kirti Chakra: Full List
New Delhi, January 25, 2025 As India celebrates its 76th Republic Day, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, has approved the announcement of 93 gallantry awards to honor the exceptional courage and sacrifice of the country’s armed forces and paramilitary personnel. The list includes 2 Kirti Chakras, 14 Shaurya Chakras, and several other distinguished awards, with 11 posthumous recognitions.
These awards symbolize the nation’s gratitude towards its bravehearts who have gone above and beyond to safeguard India’s sovereignty and security.
Highlights of the Awards
- Kirti Chakra: 2 awards, including one posthumous.
- Shaurya Chakra: 14 awards, with three posthumous.
- Sena Medal (Gallantry): 66 awards, seven of which are posthumous.
- Nau Sena Medal (Gallantry): 2 awards.
- Vayu Sena Medal (Gallantry): 8 awards.

Sena Medal (Gallantry)

Distinguished Service Medals

- Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (57): Awarded for distinguished service of an exceptional order.

The awards also include 11 posthumous recognitions, underscoring the valor of soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. Among them are Naik Dilawar Khan, Captain Deepak Singh, and Havildar Rohit Kumar, who demonstrated extraordinary courage during counter-terrorism operations.
