Udaipur : At the orders of the Child Welfare Committee in Rajsamand 25 minor girls among the 67, who were rescued from a hotel last week, were shifted to Udaipur in Monday. Parents made massive protest as they came to know about the order and they raised slogans against the authorities at the CWC office as well as the shelter home where the girls have been kept. The girls were taken out in police protection as parents didn’t permit them to be separated.
” These people have been pressuring us for the release of the girls however, we cannot release them immediately unless things are clear because the identification documents and claims made by the parents too have to be authenticated first” Bhavna Paliwal chairperson of the committee told TOI. More than 40 persons including large number of women have reached Rajsamand who claim the girls to be their children and to have sent them on their will to receive spiritual training. ”
As per the legal provisions, we cannot handover the girls to their parents because we cannot ascertain whether they are actually their parents or not. So we will send them to CWC of concerning states and districts from where the authorities would further give the girls to their parents” she added. Meanwhile Manan Chaturvedi, chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights was slated to arrive at Rajsamand on monday to take a detailed report.
